PRAYER

Dear Lord, today I go forth with my brothers and sisters of the badge to protect and serve our respective communities by maintaining law and order.  I freely accept my calling as a Soldier of the Law entrusted by you to serve honestly and faithfully and if need by lay down my life as many others have done before me to fulfill my sworn obligation.  I do not seek fame and fortune but simply to serve to the best of my ability that will give honor to you, the God of all Justice.  Lord, I humbly ask that you give me the courage everyday to run toward and not away from trouble; to face the trials and tribulations that are associated with law enforcement; and to always do the right thing for the right reason.  I ask you for wisdom and discernment to deal with the many challenging situations that I face daily.  Please continue to strengthen my resolve of integrity and dedication.  Ensure that I always obey the law and enforce it without regard for class, creed, culture or condition so that I will never bring shame upon my department or my position of sacred trust within the community.

Dear Lord, please watch over my family during my long hours of absence both physically and mentally.  My path is not an easy one, but theirs can be more difficult at times facing trials and tribulations’ while I am serving my community.  Wrap them in your mercy, grace and never-ending love protecting and guiding them until I can safely return home.

Finally, Lord, please watch over me and each of my brothers and sisters as we traverse a world of uncertainty each day doing our absolute best to faithfully serve our communities with integrity, dedication and honor.  I freely declare that you O Lord, are my refuge, my place of safety; and that you are my God in whom I trust with every part of my life.  (Psalm 91) Thank you for hearing my prayer and always being right beside me so that I may never be shaken. (Psalm 16:8)

AMEN
